AUTHOR INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
Q: Can you tell us about yourself?
I am happily married 26 years this year. I am a mother of 4 and a grandma of 1. I will try anything once. I love crafting especially with seashells that I find on the beach. I love spending time with my family. I love the outdoors and anything that deals with water including fishing and kayaking.
Q: What inspires you to write?
God inspires me to write. He is the reason I have the ability that I do. Also now that I have readers who love my work and are waiting for the next new book it makes me happy to write for them.
Q: Describe your book in 3 words?
All of my books are emotional, interesting, unique
Q: Out of all of your books do you have a favorite character or couple?
I love all my characters but I think If I had to pick from my current books I would have to pick Lucas Devinshire. He is someone who has been dealt a bad hand and he's not sure how to deal with it so he falls to peer pressure until he finds something that he didn't realize he wanted till after he gets shown up by her.
But my favorite character is in a book I am working on that is a pirate romance. Dante Digby is an orphan who has 1 best friend and all they want to do is be pirates. Dante is very resourceful and determined to escape with his friend and be pirates.
Q: Are you currently working on a new book at this time?
I have currently in the range of 18-20 different genres including the remaining books in my continuous inspirational fiction series. I have them in many form from notes to paragraphs and chapters already written.
Q: Do you have a routine you follow when you write?
Take lots of notes for quick review.
I also have a list of things I need to accomplish for each chapter so I don't have to keep going back over the book when I am working on my final copy.
Q: How do your stories & characters develop?
I am a conscious writer. When I get an idea I write it down and as things come to me in my mind I write them down. But all of my books are written from start to finish mostly how it came from my mind to my fingertips. When I review and repair my stories all I basically add is more description and more clarity. But the basic concept is exactly how it comes to me as I write.
Q: What was the first thing that came to your mind when your first book was published?
The first book that I had done with a publishing company I was amazed and I felt accomplished.
But when that contract was up and I decided to go off on my own that first book 2nd edition was a completely different feeling. Because I had done all the work myself, from my cover to the design of my pages. I felt like I had won the lottery and I Did what I was told I couldn't do! I nearly cried from absolute happiness.
Q: Do you have a favorite author whose books you love to read?
I did when I was younger. I don't have as much time to read now that I am older but I love Stephen king.
I love comedies and horror or anything that can keep my interest.
Q: What is your favorite genre to read & write?
I write from the heart and love to keep my readers engaged with my books. So I write plots with tons of emotion, twists and turns, with relatable characters that draw the readers into my story so they feel like they are a part of the book and keep them hooked till the end.
Q: How do you go about creating the most “Swoonworthy” character?
My characters are all designed from my mind like I would see them if they were right in front of me and I was their shadow.
Q: Can you share something with everyone that inspires you?
My kids and my hubby inspire me to be everything I can be.
Q: If you could have dinner with anyone in world who would it be and why?
Well if I could have dinner with my dad again that would be awesome. He went to live with a God 13 years ago this Christmas. I would love to know if I make him proud.
Q: As a child what did you want to do when you grew up?
A journalist.
Q: When did you first consider yourself a “writer”?
I considered myself a writer when I finally finished my first draft of my first book. But officially I considered myself a writer when my book was published and I was able to sign my first copy for my readers.
Q: Do you read all the reviews for your book(s)?
Yes I do!
Q: Which do you prefer paperback, hardback, or ebooks & why?
I don't really have a preference. But definitely paperback or hardback over ebooks. I like the feel of an actual book.
Fun questions:
Q: What are your favorite types of heroines? Do you like the damsel in distress who needs saving or the kick-ass variety? Why?
I like the kick-ass kind. Who take control and take care of business. They can handle themselves and don't need anyone to care for them.
