I love reading different genres such as paranormal, young adult, romance, romantic suspense, mystery, Christian fiction, some horror, etc. The list goes on. I started reviewing books a couple of years ago and have done reviews for different blogs and even some authors. I really have enjoyed reviewing books and I will continue to do so. Review of The Hitchhiker on Christmas Eve by Judy Moore
It’s Christmas Eve, and Renee is a mess. She has barely slept or eaten for two weeks. Her hair is ratted, her eyes are puffy and bloodshot, and her clothes are filthy. In the throngs of an anxiety attack, she decides to commit suicide by jumping off a nearby bridge, though the thought of it terrifies her. As she drives toward the bridge through the Virginia countryside, she considers driving into an oncoming cement truck. But at the last moment, she can’t do it. Then, she sees a dark, foreboding man hitchhiking. On a whim, she stops and picks him up. What does it matter anyway? But she immediately regrets her decision.
Who is the intimidating, tattooed hitchhiker – and what are his plans for her?
MY REVIEW:
I REALLY ENJOYED THE HITCHHIKER ON CHRISTMAS EVE. THIS BOOK IS MY FAVORITE OF JUDY MOORE'S BOOKS SO FAR. WE MEET RENEE WHO IS SUCH A MESS SINCE HER FIANCE BROKE UP WITH HER. SHE CAN'T SLEEP. SHE CAN'T EAT. RENEE IS SO DEPRESSED, SHE DECIDES TO COMMIT SUICIDE BY JUMPING OFF THE BRIDGE. THEN SHE DOES EVEN SOMETHING EVEN MORE DANGEROUS, SHE PICKS UP A HITCHHIKER. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT GIVES ME HOPE FOR THE HUMAN RACE. RENEE WAS MEANT TO MEET THE HITCHHIKER THAT NIGHT. HE WILL CHANGE HER LIFE FOREVER.
JUDY HAS A WAY OF DRAWING YOU INTO HER STORIES FROM THE VERY FIRST PAGE UNTIL THE END. THE HITCHHIKER ON CHRISTMAS EVE WAS NO EXCEPTION SHE DID AN EXCELLENT JOB IN PORTRAYING HOW DEPRESSING THE HOLIDAYS ARE FOR SOME PEOPLE ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE BEEN HURT AS RENEE HAS. YOU COULD FEEL HER PAIN JUST AS IF IT WAS YOUR OWN. I FELT SO SORRY FOR HER ALTHOUGH TAKING HER LIFE WASN'T THE ANSWER. THE HITCHHIKER WAS AN INTERESTING MAN. HE MADE SOME MISTAKES IN LIFE AND WAS TRYING TO CHANGE. HE WENT OUT OF THE WAY TO HELP THIS TOTAL STRANGER OUT. HE SAVED HER LIFE AND THEN THEY SLOWLY FELL IN LOVE AS THEY GOT TO KNOW ONE ANOTHER.
THIS BOOK HAS A LITTLE EVERYTHING THERE IS SUSPENSE, ROMANCE AND EVEN ACTION. IT WAS A VERY EMOTIONAL READ THAT ENJOYED SO MUCH I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND YOU PICKUP THIS BOOK 5 STARS
