EXCERPT FROM THE SPIRIT PATH
“It’s not what you think.” She said, searching for the appropriate words. How could she tell him she was from the future? Surely, he would think she was crazy.
“Where I come from, this is a cami... I mean a shirt, and we wear it like this.” She took a step back and dropped her arms to her sides. “See? Nothing to be ashamed of.”
Her heart raced as she took a deep breath and watched him raise one eyebrow. His gaze latched onto the thin straps at her shoulders, down to her breasts, and then went lower to the bare skin just above the waistband of her Wranglers. Nicole tugged at the bottom of the cami. She covered her stomach as if it would make it more presentable.
“Better?” she asked, waiting for him to respond, but inwardly wishing she’d never taken it off at all.
He got up and slowly moved in her direction. Despite being nervous, the sudden urge to kiss him was overwhelming. He moved closer, as if staking his prey. His eyes scanning every inch.
A warm glow intensified on her face at his sudden interest, and her mind blurred into her own thoughts. What if he tried to kiss her? Would she let him? More importantly, did she want him to? She closed her eyes and let out a slow breath. Yes, yes, and yes, she thought.

Nicole went horseback riding, not knowing the events of the day would forever change her life. When she falls off her horse and hits her head, she wakes up to unfamiliar surroundings only to find out she has traveled back in time to the year 1812.
She swung into the saddle, took a deep breath and then mustered the strength to ask him a question that she had been putting off.
"What year is it?" She asked, exhaling slowly, preparing for his response knowing that when she woke up this morning it was 1997.

AUTHOR BIO

Tammy Tate was born and raised in Hollywood, Florida but has lived most of her adult life in Texas. Her passion to write began in high school. It follows her everywhere she goes...creating a world where anything is possible. She's been married to the same wonderful man for over thirty years. Her secret to a long marriage? It's easy when you marry your best friend. In her world, Friday night is still date night.

Before she became a full-time author, she was an Executive Secretary, a Computer Consultant/Technician, and a Communications Officer (Police Dispatcher). She doesn't mind a challenge which has allowed her to race a late-model in a women's powder puff race, run barrels and poles in a play-day rodeo and drive an 18-wheeler. Somewhere in between, she and her husband raised three wonderful children. When she's not breathing life into her characters or jotting down ideas for a new book, she spending time with her husband or curled up with a good book.

Since she believes reading is the next best thing to writing, she enjoys romance, fantasy, science fiction and thrillers. In December of 2013, she signed her first book contract with a traditional publisher. Her books have made Amazon's Best Seller list.
