Veiled Justice by Hearther G. Harris Release Blitz

Title: Veiled Justice

Author: Heather G. Harris

Genre: Urban Fantasy

Cover Designer: Covers by Christian

Publication Date: Aug. 28th, 2025

Hosted by: Lady Amber’s PR

Blurb:

Murder has crashed the party, so justice won’t wait for an invitation.

Champagne, caviar… and a corpse. This high-society party wasn’t meant to end in murder. When my brother calls me to investigate the brutal stabbing of a female ogre at the charity ball of the season, the glittering magical elite quickly become a sea of suspects.

Everyone who’s anyone was there, but glamour has given way to something far darker. Someone’s playing a deadly game, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. It’s my job to cut through the beauty and lies to find a killer hiding among the rich and powerful.

As a police inspector with the Connection, I’ve seen plenty of strange things, but this case reeks of entitlement, secrets, and old money with something to hide. Then the King of the Ogres storms in. Furious and formidable, he demands justice. Stopping him from tearing through the guest list is almost as hard as keeping my mind on the case, because rage and power look annoyingly good on him.

But when a dryad turns up dead at another elite event, I realise I’m chasing a serial killer who thinks they’re too rich to face consequences… and they’re setting my brother up to take the fall.

With a rookie partner finding his feet and my talking-bird sidekick offering sharp advice (and sharper insults), I’m racing against the clock to solve the case before my brother faces the lethal justice of the Other realm…

Immerse yourself in The Other Detective Series – perfect for fans of supernatural crime, complete with a fierce heroine, gritty murder investigations, and a slow-burn romance.

Heather is an urban fantasy writer and mum. She was born and raised near Windsor, which gave her the misguided impression that she was close to royalty in some way. She is not, though she once got a letter from Queen Elizabeth's lady-in-waiting.

Heather went to university in Liverpool, where she took up skydiving and met her future husband. When she’s not running around after her children, she’s plotting her next book and daydreaming about vampires, dragons and kick-ass heroines.

Heather loves to travel and once spent a month in Thailand. Thai food remains a firm family favourite. It goes without saying that Heather is a book lover. She grew up reading the likes of Brian Jacques and Anne McCaffrey.

Shaman

A Talisman Series Standalone

by Tam DeRudder Jackson

Genre: Paranormal Romance, Romantasy

A druid straddles the line between light and darkness . . .

Renleigh Rogan keeps to herself in her remote Montana cabin, tending her plants and honing her protection spells. Only occasionally does she indulge her shape-shifting abilities… Called to Scotland in the middle of the night to help heal a rogue warrior, her first instinct is to ignore the summons, but danger lies in disobeying a powerful goddess.

A rogue is caught in a celestial tug-o-war . . .

Jamie Lennox gave up the warrior community long ago, voluntarily fighting in the Morrigan’s rogue army. Cocky, and one of the most accomplished swordsman in the community, he’s the perfect weapon for taking the warriors the Morrigan covets most. Yet when he loses a pivotal battle, she turns on him, leaving him injured and lost in a no-man’s land between good and evil, a place no warrior or rogue can exist for long. Luckily for him, a beautiful druid has come to his rescue, even if she’s saving him against her will.

Two people are brought together by a force they never saw coming . . .

The fact Jaime Lennox looks like a fallen angel has nothing to do with Renleigh’s decision to come to his aid. His sexy come-ons do not intrigue her either—not even a little bit. Nor does the mysterious past he hides. While the two of them spar inside an enchanted cottage in the Highlands, overhead, a celestial storm is brewing, one that will require each of them to decide what truly matters—their beliefs about themselves and each other or the truth that will set their love free.

Book Tour and Giveaway Illusionist by Laurie Buchanan

A Sean McPherson Novel, Book 5

Mystery/Thriller/Private Investigator
Date Published: 04-15-2025
Publisher: SparkPress

A contemporary crime thriller perfect for Louise Penny and Robert Dugoni fans, Illusionist presents PI McPherson with an impossible dilemma: kill an author at a writing retreat in the Pacific Northwest, or let a college student die.

When an illusionist arrives at Pines & Quill, one of the retreat’s owners vanishes—right in front of witnesses who see nothing. Meanwhile, crime boss Georgio Gambino tightens his grip, blackmailing a writer into murder and framing Sean McPherson. His threat is clear: obey, or your daughter dies.

As McPherson investigates, he uncovers a brewing power struggle—Carmine Fiore, Gambino’s second-in-command, is staging a coup. While Gambino’s network traffics drugs, weapons, and humans, Fiore manipulates the Sureños gang, planting evidence to shift blame.

Desperate to turn the tide, McPherson seeks a dangerous alliance. But when deception is the game, only illusion can outmaneuver the truth. Enlisting the retreat’s eclectic writers—including a NASCAR driver, a triathlete, a house-flipping architect, and a magician with secrets of her own—McPherson sets the stage for the ultimate trick: survival.

About the Author

A blend of Dr. Doolittle, Nanny McPhee, and a type-A Buddhist, Laurie Buchanan is an active listener, observer of details, payer of attention, reader and writer of books, kindness enthusiast, red licorice aficionado, and lover of the Oxford comma.

As a novelist, photographer, and voracious reader, she never travels without three essentials—a laptop, a camera, and a book.

Growing up, she dreamed of being a magician, an international spy, and a mad scientist. There’s still time!

Her writing studio is the hayloft of a historic carriage house in the Pacific Northwest, where creativity thrives. Her husband, Len, a private pilot, and Henry, their not-so-standard Standard Poodle, join her on daily walks. She always carries a camera because sometimes, the best word choice is a picture.

A journey that left an indelible imprint on her was a 20-day, 211-mile trek across the majestic landscapes of Scotland. She, her husband, and their son hiked from the North Sea to the Atlantic Ocean, with the pinnacle being the climb of Ben Nevis at the midpoint of their adventure, the highest point in the British Isles.

Review of Ashes of August Manor by Blaine Daigle

For fans of "The Haunting of Hill House" and "The Haunting of Bly Manor".

Noelle, a tragedy-ridden hospice worker with a unique connection to death, accepts a job caring for the dying patriarch of the reclusive August family at their lakefront manor just outside the town of Bell River, Oregon. The house does not have electricity, and the eccentric nature of the family is displayed through the grotesque artwork that lines the walls of the manor.

As Noelle wrestles with her own struggles with understanding her connection to death, she is also plunged headfirst into the dark mysteries surrounding the August family. The dying patriarch who she is strangely never able to see. The head of the household incapable of giving a straight answer, and a boy unable to speak but clearly terrified of something.

But above all, she must uncover the answers behind the ashen footprints she finds all over the house at night and the withered figure she sees looming at the tree line across the lake.

MY REVIEW:

I REALLY ENJOYED THE ASHES OF AUGUST MANOR. THE STORY DREW ME IN IMMEDIATELY AND NEVER LET ME GO. NOELLE, THE MAINE CHARACTER IS REALLY STRONG AND DETERMINED THROUGHOUT THE STORY.  HER STORY IS TRULY HEART BREAKING AND YOU REALLY FEEL FOR NOELLE. ASHES OF AUGUST MANOR IS A DARK, DREARY AND SCARY READ THAT WILL LEAVE YOU WANTING MORE.  IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A GOOD SCARY GOTHIC STORY, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ASHES OF AUGUST MANOR. 4 STARS

Society may be run by the men of the ton, but six scandalous sisters are determined to take it by storm one gentleman at a time.

Máira Blair married for love, her honeymoon trip with the Earl of Dorset is a dream come true—until reality turns it into a nightmare. Máira wakes up to discover her husband isn’t an earl, but the captain of a pirate ship and what was supposed to be her honeymoon, is a voyage bound for war-torn France. If that isn’t enough to disparage her husband’s character, he abandons her in the middle of a French port where she must find a way to survive as she defends her virtue and her life. Just when she’s convinced of what kind of rogue she married, the pirate transforms into a hero on a quest to save her and the missing Earl of Astley.

Sir Elias Drake married for convenience, he needed a Scottish bride to complete his mission. He can resist his desire for his beautiful wife, especially after she discovers his true identity. Except Máira Blair was more than he bargained for. He needs her skills, cherishes her compassion, and is tormented by her passion, which only makes him want her and the life their marriage represents more.

It will require both of their talents to rescue the Earl of Astley, and it will take more than a war to defeat their hard-won love—if they can escape.

Read an Excerpt

“Máira…” He took a step toward her, wanting to take her into his arms and erase the horrors she’d experienced in the hours since he saw her last. The way she quickly moved to keep distance between them, nearly gutted him and he stopped before he made her run out the door she’d just entered.

“You look as if you fought off the demons of hell and somehow won. Are you alright?” He asked.

The noise she made was decidedly unfeminine and nothing like the woman he knew. Somewhere between a snort and a growl, it was attached to a sneer that only hatred could form. “I’m breathing, if that’s what you’re asking.”

“Breathing?” Holy, bloody hell. What had he done? He was going to kill Peter and every one of his crew for not looking out for her. “I meant, do we need to fetch a surgeon?” He spoke softly, as if that would keep their conversation private in the middle of a tavern with every eye and ear observing them with avid curiosity. If he were lucky, only the barkeep and her henchman, and spoke English.

“Are you worried about my reputation? My virtue? My life? Or are you worried that I still stand on this green Earth?” Her hand rose to her chest in a display of mock distress. It succeeded in drawing every eye in the place to her damned feminine curves.

He glared at the men around him, some looked away sheepishly, others didn’t care. They would look their fill unless he challenged each and every one of them.

"...an exhilarating and original piece of fantasy."

Self-Publishing Review

Genre: SciFi Dystopian Fantasy

Praise for The Heart Scarab:

For fans of speculative fiction who crave rich world building, complex characters, and thought-provoking themes, The Heart Scarab is nothing short of essential reading.

The BookViral Review

An elaborate and enthralling fantasy. Reminiscent of Robin Hobb’s legendary fantasy series, the immersive vernacular and eccentrically crafted language fully transports readers to. The alternating narrative structure provides readers with a full picture of this meticulously constructed realm, while the intermingling plotlines keep the elaborate prose at a persistent pace. Striking a confident balance between political intrigue, rich character study, and trenchant but epic dystopian themes, this second novel of Atrium’s series shines as an exhilarating and original piece of fantasy.

The Matrix Opal

The Duchy Wars Book 1

From 5X award-winning writer.

Ariseng knew that she was expendable, but she would leave the stone forest and embrace their mission only if the Matrix Opal was hers, for magic and protection. She didn’t know that her true enemy lived among her new friends.

This standalone science fiction novel presents a fresh protagonist and sidekick. Familiar characters from the previous 5-book series also grow into adult roles, such as Bybiis the Beastmaster who struggles to find her place among the tribes that populate Dolvia’s city-states. Kristos el Arrivi meets Ariseng who is from a very different tribe and unwilling to harness her skills for the resistance. Will the young leaders learn to work together before their training is overwhelmed by a Ciska assassin group?

Praise for The Matrix Opal:

Stella Atrium’s writing is fluid and her superior storytelling skills leave a spell on readers, forcing them to keep on turning the pages. This deeply moving tale is filled with humanity and realism.

-Book Commentary

As always, Atrium builds worlds and cultures with anthropological rigor… and tour-guides readers through those creations with such exacting prose and immersive detail that the textures of life and conflict come to feel real.

-Book Life

… a beautiful masterpiece of worldbuilding with richly drawn characters, nuanced politics, conflicting cultures, and strange and wonderful creatures… It would be a shame to miss out on any of it.
