Review of Our Fathers' Burden by William F. Gray

Tragedy strikes Harry’s family leaving him with nothing but sorrow, grief, and a mysterious box whose contents leave him shaken to the core. Everything he thought he knew about his father teetered on the edge of lies. Despite this, he decides to carry out his late father’s final wishes: to meet up with some of his old friends whose fathers had been best friends with his own - for a traditional camping trip their fathers had taken annually in years passed.

But what they find up there in the Appalachian Mountains, and the mysterious circumstances that sent them there, reveal that their fathers had kept a terrible, deadly secret. And now that burden is theirs, and they must pay the price.

MY REVIEW:

FIVE CHILDHOOD FRIENDS USE TO GO ON AN ANNUAL HUNTING TRIP WITH THEIR FATHERS TO THE APPALACHIAN MOUNTAINS. THEIR FATHERS' WERE BEST FRIENDS WHO ENJOYED SPENDING TIME TOGETHER. THEIR FATHERS' FINAL WISHES WAS FOR THE FRIENDS TO GET TOGETHER FOR A TRADITIONAL CAMPING TRIP TO THE APPALACHIAN MOUNTAINS. HARRY BRINGS A MYSTERIOUS BOX THAT HOLDS 5 CASSETTS FOR EACH OF THE FRIENDS WHEN THE FRIENDS DECIDES TO HONOR THEIR FATHERS' DYING WISHES ONE LAST TIME. WHAT THEY DISCOVER IS A TERRIBLE DEADLY SECRET THAT THEIR FATHERS WERE KEEPING FOR YEARS. NOW THEIR FATHERS' BURDEN IS PASSED ONTO THEM BUT WILL THE FRIENDS SURVIVE?

I WAS TAKEN COMPLETELY SURPRISE BY OUR FATHERS' BURDEN. THIS WAS A BRILLIANT HORROR STORY TOLD BY AUTHOR, WILLIAM F. GRAY. THE STORY RESOLVES AROUND GRIEF, DEPRESSION AND GROWTH. THE CHARACTERS GREW THROUGHOUT THE STORY. I FOUND OUR FATHERS' BURDEN VERY CREEPY AND SCARY. I RECOMMEND READING WITH THE LIGHTS ON. I WAS PULLED INTO THE STORY FROM THE VERY FIRST PAGE UNTIL THE VERY END. THERE WERE ALOT OF TWISTS AND TURNS YOU DO NOT SEE COMING AND THE AUTHOR KEEPS YOU ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT UNTIL THE VERY END. I FOUND THE STORY IS TERRIFYING AND VERY EMOTIONAL AS THE FRIENDS FACE A TERRIBLE SECRET AND MONSTROUS CREATURE THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO STOP. THERE WAS ALOT OF ACTION AND SUSPENSE AS THE FRIENDS FIGHT TO STAY ALIVE. I CAN'T WAIT TO READ MORE BOOKS BY AUTHOR, WILLIAM F. GRAY. I REALLY ENJOY HIS WRITING AND THOUGHT OUR FATHERS' BURDEN WAS UNIQUE AND DIFFERENT FROM ANYTHING I HAVE READ.  A MUST READ FOR HORROR READERS. 5 STARS.
