MY REVIEW:

K.A. EMMONS IS A NEW AUTHOR TO ME.  I HAVE NEVER READ ANY OF HER BOOKS BEFORE AND I AM SO GLAD I DID.  THE BLOOD RACE IS THE FIRST BOOK IN THE SERIES. THIS BOOK TOOK ME COMPLETELY BY SURPRISE.  WHAT AN EXCELLENT START TO A NEW SERIES.  I REALLY LOVE THE BLOOD RACE.  K.A. EMMONS HAS WROTE A UNIQUE SCI-FI/FANTASY THRILLER.  THE CHARACTERS ARE EXCELLENT AND STRONG.  WHAT AN EXCELLENT PLOT.  I REALLY ENJOYED THE CHARACTERS, HAWK AND ION AND THERE ARE SO MANY MORE INTERESTING CHARACTERS THROUGHOUT THE STORY.  THE AUTHOR DID AN EXCELLENT JOB WRITING THIS STORY.  K.A. EMMONS TAKES YOU INTO A WORLD THAT IS UNKNOWN AND POWERS YOU DID NOT KNOW PEOPLE POSSESSED.  THERE IS ALOT OF ACTION, INTRIGUE AND MYSTERY.  THE CHARACTERS ARE ALL GOING THROUGH AN EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTER RIGHT ALONG WITH YOU.  THE AUTHOR LEAVES YOU WANTING MORE.  IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE WHERE THE AUTHOR TAKES THIS SERIES. I AM SO EXCITED FOR THE NEXT BOOK IN THE SERIES.  I WILL DEFINITELY BE LOOKING FOR MORE BOOKS BY K.A. EMMONS.  I LOVE HER WRITING.  5 STARS

Emmons’ debut novel The Blood Race is the first book in her YA science fiction/fantasy thriller series. She lives in the often-snowy hills of rugged Vermont with her husband and dog named Rocket.
