Review of Murder on Pointe A Fiona Quinn Mystery by C.S. McDonald

Fiona can't wait to attend the performance of Coppelia at the Benedum Center in Pittsburgh. Her old friend, Silja Ramsay, is dancing the principal role. They have dinner after the show, but when they return Pittsburgh Ballet Theater is down one dancer! Ballerina, Alexis Cartwright, has been found dead in the dressing room.
Is this murder a result of hot tempers among the cast members? Or is it a random act of violence? Will there be more murders? Homicide Detective, Nathan Landry, isn't taking any chances. After finding out Fiona has a strong background in ballet he recruits her to go undercover among the cast of Coppelia.
Can Fiona help catch a killer, or will she be the next victim?

MY REVIEW:

MURDER ON POINTE IS BOOK 1 OF THE FIONA QUINN MYSTERY SERIES. I MUST SAY I AM A BIG FAN OF C.S. MCDONALD. I LOVE HER FIRST FORCE SERIES.  WHEN I LEARNED SHE WAS WRITING A COZY MYSTERY SERIES, I WAS REALLY  LOOKING FORWARD TO READING IT.   I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED.  MURDER ON POINTE IS AN EXCELLENT START TO THE SERIES.  WE MEET FIONA WHO IS A SCHOOL TEACHER.  SHE WAS A DANCER AT ONE TIME BUT NO LONGER IS DANCING.  FIONA MEETS HER OLD FRIEND, SILJA RAMSAY AFTER SEEING HER PERFORM.  WHEN THEY RETURN, ONE OF THE DANCERS ARE FOUND MURDERED.  HOMICIDE DETECTIVE, NATHAN LANDRY IS CALLED TO THE SCENE TO INVESTIGATE.  HE QUESTIONS EVERYONE INCLUDING FIONA AND SILJA.  WHEN FIONA AND DETECTIVE LANDRY MEET THE SPARKS AND ATTRACTION FLY BETWEEN THEM.  WILL FIONA AND DETECTIVE LANDRY BE ABLE TO SOLVE THE MURDER BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE IS KILLED?

FIONA IS VERY IMPRESSIVE AND HAS AN EYE FOR DETAILS OTHERS OVER LOOK. SHE MAKES AN EXCELLENT SLEUTH.  ALL HER REACTIONS ARE SO VERY NATURAL AND REAL.  I REALLY ENJOYED HER CHARACTER.  DETECTIVE LANDRY IS SO CHARMING AND JUST HAS A WAY ABOUT HIM.  HE KNOWS HOW TO QUESTION A SUSPECT AND GET THE ANSWERS OUT OF THEM.  I THOUGHT FIONA AND DETECTIVE LANDRY WERE PERFECT FOR ONE ANOTHER.  THEIR CHEMISTRY IS SO REAL AND THEIR CHARACTERS SO BELIEVABLE.  I REALLY ENJOYED MURDER ON POINTE.  IT IS AN EXCELLENT MURDER MYSTERY THAT KEEPS YOU GUESSING UNTIL THE VERY END.  I WAS SURPRISED BY THE ENDING. I NEVER SAW THAT COMING.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU READ THIS NEW SERIES.  IF YOU ARE A BIG FAN OF A COZY MURDER MYSTERY WITH LOTS OF ACTION THAT KEEPS YOU GUESSING, YOU WILL ENJOY MURDER ON POINTE.  I LOVE THE CHARACTERS AND THE STORYLINE.  I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT BOOK IN THE SERIES.  WHILE YOU ARE AT, I RECOMMEND YOU READ THE FIRST FORCE SERIES.  THAT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SERIES.  5 STARS
