EXCERPTS

From “Ethel and the Merman”
“You saved me.” It sounded cliche, but what else could I say? Except perhaps, “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” His voice was low and smooth, and it washed over me like a tidal wave. His hand moved to the small of my back, ensuring that I didn’t slide off the board as he guided it closer to shore.

Other than the fact that he was probably the most gorgeous guy I had ever laid eyes on, I didn’t notice that anything was awry until the board started moving at a speed that was far faster than humanly possible.

My breath hitched and I gripped the board harder.

“Don’t worry. You’re safe.

Those words...I had heard them before. I started to relax in spite of the speed at which we were traveling. Oddly, I did feel safe.

“How is this possible?”

“Ethel, I’m not what you would call an average man.”

Surprise Passion - Teaser 2

From “Scent of the Centaur”
His voice was smooth and deep with a lyrical quality that poured over my soul like warm syrup. I don’t know what caused me to feel more flustered -- the ordeal I had just experienced, the fact that he was hotter than sin, or the realization that suddenly occurred to me.

“There aren’t any reins...only you and you’re...” What was he? The guide’s words couldn’t be true.

“My neck. Wrap your arms around my neck and hold on like you want to ride forever.”

I was seated on a horse, but I was speaking to a man. I held him tentatively at first, but grew bolder as fear jolted through me with his increased speed. My arm wrapped around his neck as he had instructed, but as he ran, the bouncing promenade tempted my arms to slide, until finally I relented and my hands landed on his bare torso, my fingers resting lightly on his chest and my mind suddenly assaulted by lustful thoughts brought on by his muscular build.

Review of Forbidden by Angela Ford

Agent Jessica Resario thought she found Closure with the arrest of her parents' killer. She allowed her heart to love again and married Tom. Knowing a married couple can't be on the team together; Tom stepped down and decided to train at the FBI academy. Jess is promoted to Supervisory Special Agent.

She continues to deliver spine-chilling seminars to parents about cyber safety. One seminar introduces her to Tiffany Bennett's parents who are quite concerned for their daughter's safety from an Internet Predator. Jess leads the team to protect Tiffany and discovers that the past can creep back into your life.

MY REVIEW

I really enjoyed reading Forbidden. The idea of Internet Predators is occurring all over the world. It is a subject you are hearing more and more about. Agent Jessica Resario gives seminars all over the world introducing parents to cyber safety. Along the way, she meets Tiffany's parents who are concerned about her. Tiffany has all of the signs of having an Internet Predator. Jessica starts an investigation and with her team discover some very interesting information and facts about the Predator. I love Jessica and her team. Jessica does whatever is necessary to find out the truth even though she has to break the rules sometimes to save someone's life. Jessica and her husband, Tom are so in love and have a wonderful relationship. He is very caring and understanding of her work. Jessica has a wonderful team who look out of reach other. The book is filled with action, mystery, murder and a surprise that no one seen coming.

I am looking forward to reading more of Angela's book. She is a wonderful writer. I enjoy reading books with romance, mystery, murder, action and intrique. 4 stars

Review of Worth It by Beth Wilson

Fresh new voice in Women's Fiction.

Jude's ex-husband, Grant, calls her a tight-ass because she wants everything under control, but when she starts dating Phil, who is twenty-three years older, their fun, secret romance becomes harder to control than her marriage. Grant complicates things by showing up determined to win her back.

As Jude’s relationship with Phil deepens, her feelings toward him and about the future begin to alarm her. Is it worth it to her to consider commitment again when Phil just wants a weekend romance?

MY REVIEW

At first, I thought Jude and Phil's romance was rushed. It just seemed to happen so quickly. I have to admit their age difference had me questioning the romance. As the story progressed and they faced many obstacles from family and friends, I realized they were meant for each other. Jude and Phil did not let other people's opinion effect their relationship or separate them. The chemistry between them was pretty obvious and they enjoyed each other's company. As time went on, Jude realized she wanted more. She wanted marriage and children with Phil. Jude had never felt like this with any other man before. These feeling were new for Jude and she knew Phil didn't want to start all over again with children. It takes them being apart and no longer together before they realize what they want.

I really enjoyed this book. Beth is a wonderful writer who is able to convey her character's emotions into words. She draws you into the story and into the lives of each character. I truly felt Jude and Phil's pain, heartache and love. I enjoyed all the characters in the story and was hoping Jude and Phil would end up together in the end. "Worth It" shows that falling in love can be complicated and you may face many obstacles and even challenges along the way but you have to decide is it all worth it. Is your love strong enough to survive those obstacles and challenges or should you move on? Don't let other peoples opinions destroy what you have or keep you apart. You need to do what makes you happy. After all true love is very rare.

I am looking forward to reading more books by Beth Wilson. This story touched me very deeply and made me believe in true love again. 5 stars

Review of The Spirit Path

The Spirit Path (Book 1) by Tammy Tate Nicole goes horseback riding, not knowing that the events of the day would forever change her life. After she falls off her horse and hits her head she wakes up to unfamiliar surroundings only to find she has traveled back in time to the year 1812. She swung into the saddle, took a deep breath and then mustered the strength to ask him a question that she had been putting off. "What year is it?" She exhaled slowly, preparing herself for his response knowing that when she woke up this morning it was 1997. Flaming Arrow started to ride off, and then turned his horse to face her.
